The Judo Club of Lisbon participated in the European Cup in the Czech Republic, on the weekend of the 30-31^st July. Representing the club was Marta Santos (-52 kg), Gonçalo Simões (-66 kg), Vasco Santos (-66 kg) and Sérgio Teles (-73 kg).

Marta Santos, once again, did not disappoint. She stood out in the competition with three victories in four matches, thus obtaining a silver medal in her weight category. The other three athletes from the Club, although not winning a match, did well in their fights.

JCL wishes all the athletes all the best for their efforts.

With great joy, the Judo Club of Lisbon wants to share with all the placement of the program “Judo at Alta Lisboa” in the Good Practice Guide - Involving Migrants In Mainstream Sport Institutions.

The program has grown, not only in number but also in quality. More and more, we have put into place more activities parallel to judo, like workshops on various topics, help in the legalization of athletes, dealing with their schooling, work with families, and soon, a project in additional tutoring in their schooling.

This year, the Club was invited to be a part of this Good Practice Guide, promoted by the Portuguese Players Union (SJPF) in partnership with European project Sport Inclusion Network (SPIN).

It is a honour for us, to see our work recognized in this document, although knowing that we could go further and this is what we are going to do.

A Taça de Portugal (prova de equipas), no escalão de sub-23, realizou-se pela primeira vez em Portugal.

Esta importante prova teve lugar no Palácio dos Desportos de Torres Novas, a 22 de Maio de 2011.

Participaram 18 equipas que, apesar do calor que se fez sentir, protagonizaram uma emocionante e muito disputada competição.

O Judo Clube de Lisboa participou com a equipa masculina e feminina, sendo que a equipa masculina obteve a excelente classificação de 3º lugar na competição.
