Summer Holidays in the Judo Club of Lisbon

The Summer Holidays in the Judo Club of Lisbon ran between the 25th of June and the 15th of July. There were 75 children and young people who participated in the activities, coming from the Judo Clubs in Alta Lisboa and Olaias.

Children and young people could develop different skills in the summer school holidays for 3 weeks. In our understanding, it is fundamental to keep kids and young people busy during this period of the year, with a preference for activities which promote their physical and mental development, in a enjoyable and laid back environment.

JCL sought to make a schedule quite diverse, which not only promotes judo only, but other activities in culture, environment and society.

Highlights include visits to the Municipal Police of Lisbon, educational games with CEDL (European House - Lisbon Area), plant planting with AVAAL (Valuing the Environment Association of Alta Lisboa), visits to the Maritime Museum and workshops about healthy eating. There was also for free time in the open air in Quinta das Conchas and going to the beach.

Finally, the kids and young people made a drawing or story in which they could express what they liked to do the most and the least in these holidays, with the outcome being quite positive!
